I've not removed the turbo and inspected it though.WE program 2007-2013 GM E37 POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULEs, OFF THE VEHICLE, FOR PLUG AND PLAY OPERATION. Shutting the car off causes the actuator to let it back out. Also, if I visually watch the wastegate linkage while a helper starts the car, I can see the vacuum actuator draw it in. ![]() I can pull the linkage by hand and it does not seem to stick or bind. I had already checked for a sticky wastegate. Waiting to hear back from him about the coding issue.Īl_Savage, thanks for that too. Been talking with an independent M-B electronics rebuilder that has a few used ECM's. Don't really want to go through all of that if there's a way around it. I've seen used ECM 's on ebay that are offered with the corresponding Electronic Ignition Switch & key, steering lock, and left outside door handle, in order to have all the theft deterrent modules match. As for the variant coding issue, I'm still trying to get my brain wrapped around all of that. I had in fact replaced both the small air filters for both solenoid/transducers some time ago, but will check them again. Any available WIS information is helpful and will surely be useful to others as well as myself. Thanks Keyhole for posting all those documents. At any rate I did in fact get the wiring checked that I had set out to do. And the big N3/7 connector at the ECM did in fact have pin numbers embossed on the top side of the connector, however it required a magnifying glass and a flashlight in order to decipher, and even at that was very difficult to read, the numbers are extremely small. Not sure which diagnostic socket is X11/4, there`s a round one under the hood in the left side fuse box (no telling the pin numbers on it), and then of course also the OBDII diagnostic connector under the dash. I did pull the relay anyway and it tested okay. ![]() and as it turned out, this car had only 1 relay in the K40 block and is not equipped with an air pump, so I really don`t know what circuit the relay is for. Fuse f2 in the K40 block was okay as well. I take it to indicate the wiring itself to be okay. The other wire, red/green, showed 13.5 vdc at pin 2, Y31/5 with the engine running. The gray/violet wire running from N3/7 pin 53 to Y31/5 pin 1, turned out to be okay, measured 0.05 ohms corrected. Thank you Keyhole, your information has been quite a big help indeed. ![]()
